Jack Frost is the lead singer of a band named The Jack Frost Band based in Medford, Colorado. His career as a rock star leaves him separated from his family and his son Charlie, and soon ditches a family Christmas trip for a trip to a concert gig. On his way there he is killed in a car crash leaving Charlie an emotional mess. One year later, Charlie builds a snowman which comes to life with Jack's voice, personality, and memory, and over the course of a winter, will teach Charlie all about family bonding like his father never did.
