It follows the life of David Bryan (Sinbad), a carefree bachelor, who adopts two orphaned children, Zana Beckley (Erin Davis) and L.J. Beckley (Ray J) who face issues which they work through together. We learn how David helps L.J and Zana through life as L.J. keeps up in school, and how he helps Zana out through tough times. Meanwhile, goofy Clarence annoys everyone in the family and keeps things running smoothly along David who keeps things running.
