Samantha's life is going downhill fast. The fifteen-year-old has a crush on the most popular boy in school, and the geekiest boy in school has a crush on her. Her sister's getting married, and with all the excitement the rest of her family forgets her birthday! Add all this to a pair of horrendously embarrassing grandparents, a foreign exchange student named Long Duc Dong, and we have the makings of a hilarious journey into young womanhood.

So has anyone seen a version of this on tv where a cut cafeteria scene is aired? It shows Sam going thru the lunch line with her girlfriend and then ditching her tray when she sees Jake eating in the cafeteria. It also shows Jake reading Sam's sex test he picked up off the floor from independent study. I can't find the DVD version with deleted scenes like this. Anyone know anything?

I remember on this one message board I was on, somebody was supposedly talking positive about this movie, but then they said the final scene was cheesy. Yeah, way to compliment the movie.

What a douche that person was.

As for me, I enjoyed this movie a lot. I bought it when I myself was 16 and I liked it. It was on VHS with the changed music, but it was still funny. Gedde Watanabe made this movie with his performance as Long Duk Dong.

                            "What's happening, hot stuff?"

                              Grandpa: Where is my automobile?
Long Duck Dong: (in the midst of hysterical drunken laughter) Automobile? SPshhhh! Spshhhh! Lake.

                              HEHEHEHE! Classic!

a classic! The part when the nerd asks for h3er underwear and then shows them to all the other nerdy male freshman is the best scene!

We played this movie in Spanish class because of that one line. What is it again? "Where is my automobile?" then the dude's like, "AUTOMOVIL!!!!!!"

What's sad is....girls wrote to Jake Ryan as if he were a real person...not a character in a movie. xDD
                                        16 years, 4 months ago
Actually I had more of a thing for Anthony Michael Hall's character...sad really.

But yeah I love this movie.
