Release: November 08, 2018

On the Basis of Sex is a 2018 American biographical legal drama film based on the life and early cases of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who became the second woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court. The film begins in 1956 when a young RBG is a graduate student at Harvard Law School. In 1970 her Cancer survivor husband Mark brings her attention to Moritz v. Commissioner, a court case out of Denver where a man is acting to sue the state for a tax deduction so he can stay out of work and care for an aging mother. RBG wants to take her fight all the way up to the highest court in the land because only that will show the nation that women do indeed have the same rights as men.
