Travelling milkshake machine salesman Ray Kroc has observed that many of the drive-in restaurants he is trying to sell to are running very slow and inefficiently. One day in San Bernadino, he accepts a large order from Maurice and Richard McDonald, and find that their popular drive-in has a new model of business offering fast cooking service, high quality food, environmentally friendly disposable packing, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Finding a new passion to nationally franchise the stand, with plans to build it into a global empire, his plans may hit a roadblock by the ongoing efforts of the McDonald brothers to grow their namesake restaurant in the same way.
