Konnichiwa, bonjour, and salutations, everyone! This is my article on my top 10 favourite video games and video game series! These are in my opinion, so no complaining, please. Without further ado, let's start!

10. Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak (2003)

Platform: Game Boy Advance

The 3rd Hamtaro game in total, but the second one released outside of Japan. You play not only as Hamtaro, but his friend Bijou as well.

Your goal is to help Harmony stop Spat from ruining love for everybody in the world. The saved relationships are measured in a special item called the Love Meter, which serves a few special purposes in the game...

9. Sailor Moon: Another Story (1995)

Platform: Super NES

A Japan-exclusive RPG that was translated by Bishoujo Senshi Translations for the rest of the 90's during the N64's rule.

In this game, you don't only play as Sailor Moon, you also play the Inner Senshi, as well as Chibi-Moon. Your goal was to find the Barazuishou, a magical stone that can help Tuxedo Kamen heal after the game's antagonists, the Oppositio Senshi, have attacked him.

This is a fun game if you are a fan of Sailor Moon.

8. Yoshi's Story (1998)

Platform: Nintendo 64

Despite being a baby game, Yoshi's Story is a ton of fun if you've played it when you were little.

In this game, you play as one of 6 baby Yoshi (or 8 if you go to certain levels in pages 2 and 3), and your goal was to collect 30 fruit in each level in order to continue further and save the Super Happy Tree from Baby Bowser. Yeah~ It sounds pretty easy, but the challenge relies in a special fruit called the Melon. These pale green orbs of wonder increase your score by 100.

And if you eat 6 of the same fruit (either Apples, Bananas, Watermelons, Grapes, or Melons), another special fruit called the Heart Fruit (which has a cute smiley face on it) will parachute from above and make you invincible.

7. Kirby Super Star (1996)

Platform: Super NES

8 Kirby games in 1 game pak. How can you argue with that? You get to fight a giant bird, race against King Dedede, go treasure hunting, and save the universe! Isn't that amazing?!?

It even gets remade for the Nintendo DS and with the difficulty raised slightly.

6. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (2000)

Platform: Nintendo 64

A fun game for the N64. I was OBSESSED with this game. Your goal was to collect 72 shards of a really big crystal and stop Dark Matter.

5. Pokemon series (1996-today)

Platform: Nintendo's handhelds
In my opinion, I think the 3rd versions are the best, so I'll talk about them.

Pokemon Yellow: Basically the blessed offspring of Red and Blue and the anime series.

Pokemon Crystal: The gameplay is like Gold and Silver, except that you can catch Suicune, one of the 3 Legendary Beasts, WITHOUT searching through the grass!

Pokemon Emerald: Basically Ruby and Sapphire, except that you fight BOTH Team Magma and Team Aqua.

Pokemon Platinum: The superior cousin to Diamond and Pearl. How superior? Well, they use the ENTIRE Sinnoh Pokedex.

And now, we await the 5th Generation, Black and White. What will that generation bring? Hmmmm...

4. Super Mario World (1991)

Platform: Super NES

The defining moment for the SNES. In it, Mario and Luigi have to rescue the Princess from Bowser, only this time, it's in a place called Dinosaur Land. With help from a dinosaur named Yoshi, the Mario Bros. travel throughout Dinosaur Land to rescue his friends from the Koopalings.

3. Super Mario RPG (1996)

Platform: Super NES

This super-addictive 3-D RPG collaberation from Nintendo and Square (before they stopped working together) follows Mario and his mushroom buddies as they travel around the Mushroom Kingdom to collect the Star Pieces in order to repair the Star Road, which is destroyed by Smithy.

2. MOTHER and EarthBound

Platforms: NES, Super NES

These games aren't like any other. It appeals to children and young women, and you shouldn't cry until the end. And these are just the taglines for the games.

MOTHER, despite being translated, didn't get released due to the rise of the SNES, and MOTHER 2, which was called EarthBound for Western release, got poor reviews due to being too retro-looking for the SNES. By the grand scheme of things, does it even matter? These are fun games!

And now, drumroll please... in the #1 spot, it's...

1. Paper Mario/Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Platforms: Nintendo 64, Gamecube

These are very fun games. In the first one, your goal is to save the 7 Star Spirits and help them get the Star Rod back from Bowser's grasp. In the second one, your goal was to obtain the 7 Crystal Stars and save Princess Peach from the X-Nauts.

And these are my Top 10 games/game series. Until next time, sayonara, adieu, and bye-bye! Keep your eyes peeled for my Top 10 cartoons!
