This British police soap was created by Geoff McQueen, and it is about uniform officers and detectives from Sun Hill police station enforce law and order on a day to day basis. A job for every policemen and policewomen is much more than just catching criminals; in order to survive each day they must deal with frustrated members of the public and often their own colleagues. From petty thieves to violent drug dealers, life is never easy for the members of the Metropolitan Police Force. The series began originally from a one-off British police soap entitled: "Woodentop" on August 16, 1983, which was the pilot episode. But the British television broadcast network ITV had to change the series title to "The Bill" and premiered on October 16, 1984, with its first episode: "Funny Ol' Business – Cops and Robbers". But the series came to an end on August 31, 2010, with its final episode: "Respect: Part II".
