Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh face off against Arjen Rudd - a South African diplomat who doubles as a drug dealer. Though Riggs knows what's going on thanks to witness Leo Getz, he can't touch the villain because of "diplomatic immunity." After various perils, Martin and Roger shoot it out with the heavies on the deck of a South African cargo ship. Henceforth, it has one of the best — and funniest — suspense scenes ever filmed: Martin agonizingly attempting to extricate a terrified Roger from a booby-trapped toilet seat. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover reprise their lead roles, opposite Joe Pesci, Joss Ackland, Derrick O'Connor, and Patsy Kensit. Richard Donner directs from the screenplay by Jeffrey Boam; Story by Shane Black & Warren Murphy; Based on characters created by Black. Produced by Donner and Joel Silver. Music by Michael Kamen, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn; featuring George Harrison in "Cheer Down" and The Beach Boys in "Still Crusin'". A Silver Pictures production for Warner Bros. As for Jay Engel, the co-Supervising ADR Editor: "We miss you".

George: "Mr. Murtaugh has a gun."
Riggs: "Yeah, but it's an old gun and he's not a very good shot."
Leo: "I'm Leo Getz, and whatever you want, Leo gets."
Riggs: "This stinks!"
Captain Murphy: "I don't give a fuck, Riggs. That's why I don't have an ulcer, because I know when to say 'I don't give a fuck'."
Riggs: "(After Rika's murder) I'm not a cop tonight, Rog. This is personal."
Riggs: "I'm surprised you haven't heard of me. I got a bad reputation, like sometimes I just go nuts like now, ha ha!"
Riggs: "(To Murtaugh) We're back, we're bad, you're black, I'm mad."
Leo: "Hey hey hey! Listen, if we're going, shouldn't I have a gun?"
Riggs and Murtaugh: "NO!"
Riggs: "Eenie, meenie, minie...Hey, Moe!"
Leo Getz (repeated line): "OK, OK, OK."
Pieter "Adolf" Vorstedt: "Riggs? Are you Martin Riggs?"
Riggs: "Of the Chicago Riggs. Why, what's your name? Pieter Von Wersh (trying to pronounce his last name), aw hell. I'll just call you Adolf."
Arjen Rudd: "So he gets away. He slips right through our fingers and into the hands of the police. (then looks at Vorstedt looking around himself) What are you doing?"
Pieter "Adolf" Vorstedt: "Seeing if I was standing on any plastic."
Aryan Rudd: "Diplomatic Immunity! (Murtaugh shoots Rudd)"
Roger Murtaugh: "It's just been revoked."
