This 11 hour documentary is told in 9 episodes re-telling the entire American Civil War from it's early beginnings to the bloody end. The history of the war is given through various photographs, paintings, and newspapers along with voice overs from Civil War and American historians, actors and narration by David McCullough. Directed by legendary documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. The film series was aired on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) in 1990.
