Liberty's Kids
Debut: September 02, 2002
Ended: April 04, 2003

The story of a group of young people-namely loyalist Sarah Phillips, smart James Hiller, wacky and energetic Henri Richard Maurice Dutoit LeFevbre, and escaped slave Moses along with their mentor Benjamin Franklin, who have just come to new grounds in a group of British colonies hoping to break away and become a new country and are working as a part of Franklin's newspaper. This series takes place during the Revolutionary War starting with the Boston Tea Party and ending with the first Constitutional Convention. The series chronicles the experiences of the four in the newly-forming United States. Many famous celebrities played roles in the series voicing many of the historical figures present including Walter Cronkite(Benjamin Franklin), Sylvester Stallone, Ben Stiller, Billy Crystal, Dustin Hoffman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Don Francisco. Teen heartthrob Aaron Carter performed the show's theme song "Through My Own Eyes". On PBS the series was divided up by segments including Liberty News Network, a newscast summarizing the events of the episode with Cronkite as Ben Franklin complete with his "that's the way it is." sign off, Mystery Guest which profiles a historical figure seen in that episode, Then and Now which compares Revolution Era life to modern life, and Continental Cartoons, a rebus word game.
