The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
Debut: September 04, 1989
Ended: December 01, 1989

Based on the hit video game, "The Super Mario Bros Super Show" stars Captain Lou ALbano and Danny Wells Mario & Luigi, two Italian plumbers from Brooklyn who own and operate a plumbing company. Each episode is divided into two halves with the first half being a live-action sitcom segueing into a cartoon in the second half. In the live-action bit, Mario and Luigi deal with the day-to-day struggles of owning a plumbing company, with many guest stars coming in along the way. Some are played by A-List actors, but othesr were portrayed by either Captain Lou Albano or Danny Wells, requiring them to leave the screen to re-appear as the guest. The second half of every episode would move to a cartoon, where Mario & Luigi enter the Mushroom Kingdom and assist Princess Toadstool and Toad in helping stop King Koopa from taking over the Mushroom Kingdom, often in a call-out to a book, film, or historic event. Events in the cartoon were tied into the sitcom with Mario & Luigi being voiced by the same actors, and many of the same live-guests appearing in animated form. On Friday, the Mario cartoon was preempted by a cartoon based on "The Legend of Zelda". In this series, Link and Princess Zelda must help keep the Kingdom of Hyrule safe from Ganon and the Triforce of Power.
