Yeah, I grew to like that show only after I got over the fact that it was kinda replacing Pinwheel. Really though, I was too old for both shows. It was what? 1990 or so? I was 10? Too old...too old. I was irritated by Magellan, Eureeka was a Sorceress and I thought that was neat, I remember Bog and Quagmire, the moat twins, Nick Knack; the guy with the cart, Batley, and the slurms. Then there was the big dorky giant who owned said castle.

Heres what I remember:

Eureka was a magi who had crooked sparkley horns. She was always messing up her magic spells, causing reverse/negative reactions to happen.

Her best friend was a huge dragon named Magellan who wore a mostly white Hawaiian shirt. (The man who did his voice also did the voice for Bear in Bear and the Big Blue House.)

Magellan had a blankie that had red and blue poka dots on it. They would do a sequence of the red and blue dots moving around and forming shapes and stuff.

Bog and Quagmire were a brother and sister duo who lived in the castle's moat. They would have clips of them swimming around while odd things passed by in the water.

Nick Knack, The guy outside of the castle had a cart/kiosk and he would sell all sorts of things. There were fat rats who wanted his spaghetti all of the time. He had goggles on his forehead.

Batley had a pet spider who used to drive everyone crazy. He had coke-bottle glasses, and would always enter the scene by flying thru a window and crashing in to something because he couldn't see.

A huge giant owned the castle, it was kind of like his music box.

Once in awhile they had musical guest hosts, but I can't remember who ever sang. Thats all i can really remember, Hope this helped jog your memory!

People in my art class were just talking about this show today!!! We all loved it, this guy who I have NEVER seen cry, said he cried when it was taken off the air (as did I)

Eureka was a witch in training, and Magellen was the awesome dragon and was like the coolest thing ever (same voice as Bear in the Big Blue House) then there was Batly the Bat, then the twins, and umm...I kinda forget the rest, but the beginning of the theme song was the Giant saying

"Ooo My castle music box" then he winds it up, thats all I honestly remember :( I miss it! I wanted to be like Eurkea when I was younger

Oh I loved this show I wish they would put it back on sometime

at mi local joke shop they have a bunch of old costumes and one of them was a costume of eureka. but i think i watched a show similair to dis on nick a was da main character but i dont remember eurekas castle very well.

don't forget the singing fish fountain and the elder mouse inside the suit of armor!

Yeah, it was a pretty awsome show. I have yet to find the intro for it... been working on it, though. None of the official videos they released have it on there. I have a review of the Xmas special if you're interested in that at all...

It was an awesome show then, as of now. If they only brought it back on.Magellan was my fave character of the show. Always looked forward to his antics. :P

Man, this show defined my childhood. Eureka and the elephant show were always teamed up, and were my favorites. Some memories:
Batley's slogan: "I meant to do that!" (after crashing into something)
Magellan's weird friend "Coo-ey", what was that thing???
Batley singing LaCucaracha (sp?)
Those guys made out of clay who always talked gibberish
The worms and polka dots sequences
Mr Knack dressing up as the Easter bunny for the Christmas speical
The singing fish trio
Magellan sneezing (8 on the richter scale)
The opening and closing sequences (the giant and PICNIC TIME)
Emma the mouse burping during picnic time
All of Bog and quagmire's hilarious bickering (and their obsession with peanut butter)

It was really fun and educational and its departure surely signified the end of an era (about when I stopped watching Nick Jr, about '95 or so)
(As you can see I didn't really like Eureka the character that much..)
