i was a strange kid just so you know, i was the only kid i knew who was actually scared to have any lights on when i went to bed. i had to have it pitch black. i think it was because the shadows scared me, so in my mind:
no light=no shadows; i'm still kinda like that though, if there is any light in my room i won't be able to sleep.

I wan't afraid of the dark until I was in early elementaty school . . . then I had to have the radio and closet light on.
I was very young at age 9 or 10 back in 1991-1992 approx, I remember going to a haunted house with my brothers and my dad, it was dark then I cried because I was scared but I told my dad that I wanted to get out that time back then.
I was terrified of the dark for a long time. Nowadays I have to have it dark or I can't sleep. :P

Same here. I need it dark to sleep, but sometimes it bothers me *hides night light*.
i was scared sh**less, which is what made it such a great show. now the show isnt as scary, but i still enjoy watching it
I wasn't afraid of the dark; I was afraid of the myriad horrors my rampant imagination populated it with.
Sh*t I was freakin' scared of everything.... especially the Incredible Hulk live action tv show... scared the living daylights outta me... but at the time I wasn't 5 years old... so there is my excuse :D

I wasn't scared of the dark as much as I was afraid of what was waiting in the dark for me. I was afraid of aliens. I knew that one night I'd open my eyes and see 7 or 8 of them standing around my bed silently staring at me.

i had a scary ghostly experience when i was young, so i've been afraid of the dark for a long time. i used to sleep with a night light, laying flat on my belly, and my head covered with the blankets.
it helps that i have a big strong man to protect me now, i'm not scared...altho he's nearly impossible to wake up. :eek:

even though the dark doesn't really scare me, to this day, everytime i hear a noise, i go under the covers and i miraculously feel better, is that strange??
I was, and still am, afraid of the dark. I used to have a Nighttime Care Bear night light that I used to use - until I grew out of it and it broke. I have to have it dark to sleep nowadays, but I still keep my door cracked open to the hallway.
I'm still afraid of the dark! LOL Well I don't need to sleep with a nightlight, at least not since I was very little. But I don't like to walk into a pitch black room without hitting the light switch as soon as i enter.

Are you afraid of the dark was very good to watch. I would not say it was scary to watch. It was an thriller and had a lot of suspense and drama in the show.Not scary but a very good show that I could not keep my eyes off of for 30min.
