I'm talking about the children of this day,
would they find enjoyment in the shows from the 70's- 90's like the ones they do in this time?
mainly 90's(since I'm around that time)

I see many who are hooked on today
I Love the 90's

Sure, if some of these shows weren't off the air, kids today could get a good taste of the past.

Some of the 1990's kids that I knew didn't like cartoons from the 1980's and back. They would say that they are too old and boring.

This isn't new. Our parents probably said the same things about our generations. My uncle refused to watch any 1980's and 1990's cartoons and I didn't like many of the ones from the 1970's and back and that was when I was 6-10 years old.

I think they'd totally like them. As i've mentioned before, the girls i nanny for are OBSESSED with Punky Brewster, they could watch it all day long. They love old cartoons too, they told me they're not as boring some of the other shows they watch. I loved old cartoons when i was little, Hanna-Barbera has a special place in my heart to this day

I tend to believe so. As a kid I used to watch a lot of variety, from old sitcoms like I Love Lucy to the newest thing Nickelodean had to offer. I enjoy a lot of sitcoms that aired during the 1970s, and that was before I was even born. Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry occupied me for a while, and I did like The Flintstones and The Jetsons.

The only reason why I feel that the 2000s haven't had too much to offer is because much of the programming lacks a variety. It has all the latest shows with an overabundance of reality TV shows, and while some channels are dedicated to older stuff, they aren't airing everything from times past. I can still recall many cartoon shows and live action shows I saw when I was little that haven't aired for a good 10 or so years on TV. However, I guess that's starting to become a little to no issue, since we can watch these shows in their entirety on DVD anyway.

I think there were more different shows in the 70's-90's. Now things are more the same. So, considering the huge variety in those old shows, I think every child of the 00's is going to like at least something from before their time.
If anyone can help me get my hands on King Arthur and the Knights of Justice episodes (other than the first five which were released on DVD way back in 2004), please contact me (PM). I really want to see this show again.

All kids care about these days is poorly-dubbed anime.

Growing up in the 80s and even into the 90s there were a lot of shows I watched from previous decades- What's Happening, Gilligan's Island, Batman, The Munsters, Leave it to Beaver, etc. Now it seems like TV Land is the only place you'll see any of these shows. I think Kids do get a lot less exposure to older television.

My kids are 10 and 7 and they watch Nick at Nite and ABC Family reruns of Full House, Family Matters, Fresh Prince, Home Improvement. They also catch old eps of Hulk and Dukes of Hazard. They prefer to watch these shows over any newer shows on presently.

I enjoyed watching the older shows on Nick at Nite myself when I was their age. We watched The Patty Duke Show, My Three Sons, Make Room for Daddy, Leave it To Beaver, Dragnet ...I could go on and on. I loved them!

                    I think so.
Look at how much 80's stuff is still in toystores.
GI Joe, He-man, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Carebears, My Little Pony...

It seems the 80's are scientifically the best ever.

I think it depends on how early you indoctrinate them. XD

Uh, anyway, I have three nephews who are all 90s kids, and one of them is a huge fan of 80s movies. Not sure about cartoons, though.

I think that the new generation would love watching shows from the old generation, especially since movie and TV show ideas today aren't as good as they were back then.

I don't know. I know that quite a few people would but overall, I think today's people are pretty stupid.

Same thing with my nephew. I can't seem to get him into cartoons from the 1980's back then. He says that they are boring and the animation isn't cool. However, I have no problem getting him to watch 1990's cartoons because he thinks they "cooler".

Yeah, I can understand the animation part. But if someone changes the animation to make it more modern and keeps the same script, the kids might like it.

Some of them do. I remember when I was a kid, I had an old VHS release of Gumby which featured episodes from the 1950s and 1960s. I enjoyed it back then and I enjoy it now. I heard of some kids that watch classic cartoons, especailly the ones that have Boomerang.

I wonder what it was about us 80s (maybe 90s) kids that made us so open to old stuff? I mean, I watched old shows and movies all the time when I was little. And I spent a great deal of my childhood watching some pretty old sitcoms on Nick at Nite.
