Of the ~4k drive-ins that used to exist way back when, only 10 precent remain. I got the chance to visit a drive-in yesterday. I must say, it was excellent for the most part. They even played the intermission commercials they play in-between features (see: the same commercials they play in the background in the movie Grease when Danny sings "stranded in the drive-in")

Long live a (dying) tradition!!

also, if there's a similar thread, I apologise in advance.

Wow, really cool I was supposed to go to one but...and that would be really cool if you can see the screen from your house. But alot can happen in a Drive-In.

the only drive-in I ever went to was back in '95 to see the Power Rangers Movie.

my dad had one of those conversion vans and I layed up on the roof. it was pretty neat

I use to go to Drive-Ins all the time. There is still one only a few miles from my home.

The last time I went to a Drive-In I saw a double feature of Jurassic Park 2 and Anaconda with my mom and sister on my 14th birthday. Then we went to this great 24 hour diner at around midnight.

One of my est childhood memories.

There's a drive-in in the next town over and I've been there several times. It's always great fun to visit. They even still have the drive-in intermission film with the food doing circus tricks that Gundam_Warrior uploaded recently.

I've never been to a drive-in, but I would love to go someday. I believe there is one in Eden, NC, just a county away, so maybe there's still hope.

there's one near my house that i try to get to at least a few times a summer. it's actually a really good one too, cause it has two screens, and they show two movies on each screen a night for what you normally pay for one. one starts at like 9, the other at 11, and all 4 movies they play in a night are new release movies. i love the drive in, it's by far my favorite way to see a movie.

There might be one or two left in Maine, not sure. The only time I went to one, was to see The Nutty Proffesor 2 and some other movie. It was near Fryeburg I think, which is hours away from where I lived.

The closest drive theater is one that just shows porno movies.

It would also be cool if you could pickup the radio transmission for the audio as well. I was amazed that my car was able to play the audio just like if it was in a theater.

I forgot to mention that the pamphlet they gave us looked really retro.

There are two drive-ins close to me I plan on going to this summer. There was a third, but it's been closed for almost a decade now.

There's one here in Tulsa :) Admiral Twin Drive-In. Still up and running, plays two movies on one side of the screen and two more on the other side.

Drive Ins will always hold a spot in my heart for it was the first place I ever saw Star Wars back in 1977.The last time I went to one was in the mid to late 80's where I saw Tank and the Conan movie that had Wilt Chamberlin in it.

There are 5 drive-in theaters within 35 miles of here. The Hollywood Drive-In in Poestenkill, NY (which I went to in 1995), the Malta Drive-in in Malta, NY (a few miles south of Saratoga Springs), Jericho Drive-in in Coeymans, NY, Hi-Way Drive-in (or something along those lines) in Coxsackie, NY and Hathaways' Drive-in in Buskirk, NY.

Hollywood Drive-in has only one screen, but plays a double feature each night. Hi-Way (located near 2 jails) has 3 screens that each have a double feature nightly.
