Oh, and I also found out the real reason Nick closed. Many of you saw the press release from Nick that said they don't use the soundstages, and just decided to pull out. Not the case. Actually, Universal decided to pull Nick...Nick wasn't performing up to Universal's standards, and viola, now there's no Nick. This explains why the studios were painted just shortly before they closed. They didn't know they were going to be pulled. This also explains why Nick was so quick to get all of its stuff out. Universal wanted them out. Quick.

I think that's their true downfall, switching production from Florida to Calofornia.
sad, btu inevitable and partly nick's own fault. they stopped creating programming people wanted to watch, and lost a lot of interest. plus with the copycat nature of today's consumer society, competition against stations like cartoon network and other channels i'm sure also led to the removal of nick.

Universal Studios contracted the building to Nickelodeon for 10 years beginning in 1990. The deal was renewed in 2000 and expired in 2005.

wouldnt that be cool if they just sealed up the perimeter around NICK studios for 10 15 mabye 20 years without changing anything. it would be like NICKs forgoton ghost land.
imagine sneaking into that place and seeing everything nearly how it was left, but years later. although eerie in a "scooby" "twlight zone" or "are you afraid of the dark" kinda way, this would remind us all of better days.
