This is something that has been bothering me somewhat. I see many people talk about the "good ol' days" of their childhood. I mean, this goes for basically television, music, toys, and the like, which I will admit was, for the most part, superior. But I have to truly ask you, would you really want to go back in time and relive your life? I understand if you wanted to make things right or so or spend more time with a loved one that is no longer with you, then let me just say I COMPLETELY understand and support that, but say you had a rather difficult time growing up, like you were subject to intense bullying or were suffering from some physical ailment of sorts. I mean, would it be all worth it to go back to that time just to be able to tape your favorite shows on Saturday morning if you knew that television and movies were your only saving grace in life? I mean, I'm trying not to get anyone upset of anything (REALLY I'M NOT), I just wanted to put forth something a little thought-provoking since I'm rarely here and don't really get the chance to do that on here (my own fault, keep in mind). I personally would rather live in the here and now. I mean, times back then (particularly in 1986-1989) were really good, with the exception of my mother's Grandmother (who, along w/ her Grandfather, raised her and her sibs as their own) passing away, but I think that now is better because I now have control over my own life and can prove myself to not just the world but to myself. I'm just curious and I really don't mean to pry, but I want you to think long and hard about this, please.

I've thought about that myself on a few occassions. There are moments in my youth I would love to relive, others I wish I couldn't remember. But given the chance, a slight chance, knowing what you know now, how could you not take that opportunity? The fact is, we only live those moments in our lives once, and that's it. Would it change anything if you did go back to relive or correct whatever you went through? There's no telling. But just think, those events molded you into the person you are today. So bigger question is, do you like the person you are now?

Honestly, I don't know if I would go back to relive my youth. But I'd be a fool not to take the given chance. It was a blast!

Going back in time would be a total nightmare. I am a big fan of the 80's but I am fine with the memories, watching the movies, and buying old toys my parents never bought me.

I love the present though. Not necessarily whats going on in the world but rather my position. I would never want to jeopardize that.

Who said any of us would go back to relive the childhood as our physical childhood selves? Technically if you were to travel back in time you would be your physical self as you are now and exist separately from your past self. It is just if you did go back in time to experience the 80's for nostalgia reasons you shouldn't make any contact of any kind with your past self, family or friends otherwise it could be possible to alter the time line slightly. If I could I'd go back in time to experience the entire decade of the 80's in a way I really couldn't as a kid.

I would love to go back in time, to catch the shows that I missed.

I definitely would but only for a limited time, like several weeks. I love the world of the 90's, particularly the beginning of the decade. Aaah, that's why I love time travel books and flicks so much! :)

Some of the facts were taken from a book about black hole time travel I just recently read.

The 90's?? I wouldn't touch that decade again with a ten foot pole. I'd love to see the good cartoons that came from the 90's come back to tv in some form but I'd never re-visit the decade. Utterly horrible and horrifying in some aspects.

There are plenty of things about my childhood that I would sort of like to change...but then I wouldn't be the person I am today! I don't necessarily want to go back-I just like to bring up fond memories.

I've thought about that, too, and for the most part, although I LOVED how everything was so carefree and easy going... I wouldn't want to, unless I knew what I knew now. I want to say I don't want a couple of bullies to rule over my decisions, but if it's just to get a glimpse of life back when, I'd rather stay in the now. I'd rather go back to those days at the age I'm at now (eighteen-years-old). I'm starting to really enjoy the beginning of my late teens no matter how messed up the world seems at the moment. I definitely can't wait for the next decade to come (however uncertain it is). I also hated and hate even now how when you're a kid you don't truly have complete control over yourself. I like having it now.

I'd definately like to go back to the '90s (1994 or 1995). However...

                        1. I'd need the ability to return to the present.
                        2. Bring some cameras of course.
                        3. Take some friends with me.

I love the '90s. I'm absolutely crazy about the '90s. But I wouldn't want to stay in the '90s.

I'd go back only if I can keep all of my present day knowledge.

I'd personally rather be where I am now, just... because. It's where I belong. :P Though I'd just enjoy a remote like that one on "Click" Just to be able to watch my childhood like on a television or something. Just see it. Not change anything... just sit back and relive some old memories. Like getting stuck inside the DZ Discovery Zone tubes at the young age of 3. I'd love to watch that.

I would but I'd also have alot of conditions:

                              1. I could go back the the 80's and 90's as my present self
                              2. I could come back to right now if/ when I wanted to
                              3. I could bring a DVD recorder and an mp3 player/ recorder
                              4. I could bring money
                              5. I could go back further in time than the 80's as well

I guess I'm going to be the first one to say that if I go to the 80s, I'm going to stay there for the rest of my life. My life sucks now, plus I never even got to experience the 80s being a late 90s kid.

I would never go back to the 90s. The only reason why I like the 90s is because of my awesome high school and college years! Not only that, I got my first car and I met my wife in the 90s. And the Disney Afternoon was another good thing about the 90s until they started putting crap like Quack Pack and Timon and Pumbaa on there. Another good thing about the 90s is the Genesis and the SNES. Everything else about that decade sucks. My favorite network Nickelodeon (pretty sure you're all going to kill me for this one) ditched great shows like Pinwheel, Danger Mouse, Today's Special, Mr. Wizard, YCDTOTV etc) and started showing crap. Cartoon Network used to be good when they first started back in the early 90s, showing the good old 30s-80s cartoons I loved to watch and then they started making crap (I'm probably going to get flamed for this one too). Probably at least 75-80 percent of the cartoons that came out in that decade (ESPECIALLY the late 90s) in my opinion was terrible. Most of the music was total crap. The sitcoms was trash for the most part. I know what some of you teenagers/young adults are thinking: Pedro Reyna (my real name) is just an old fart. He can't appreciate the 90s stuff because he thinks it's not retro and he thinks it's stupid. Social wise, family wise, the 90s was great, entertainment wise, GARBAGE! And this is just MY opinion.

I wish to go back to 1990 at the current age I am now. It was beutiful then. I abused the 90's and I just wish I could see it one more time for the next 24 hours. It's times like this that I miss getting yelled at by the principal (May he burn in hell). I would like to see the time period that I loved. You could wear your pants sooooo tight, you'd cut off your blood circulation, your hair long, you'd look like shrub, and no wars and idiot presedents. So JUST ONE MORE TIME... All the right reasons why I came here.
