Hi,

Just how many of you here have a first and/or middle name that is shared by that of one of your parents, grandparents or great-grandparents and every generation before?

A few examples of my family heritage:
*My father's first and middle names were borrowed from the middle names of both his grandfathers.
*My mother's middle name rhymes with the first name of her maternal grandmother.
*My maternal grandmother's middle name is the same as that of her own mother's as well as her husband's aunt's.
*My first paternal aunt's middle name is derived from her father's first (her father is also my father's father).
*My older brother's first and middle names were chosen by my father to align themselves with the initials of his own father.

My first name is a female version of my paternal grandpa's name and my middle name is my paternal grandma's first name. My dad's first name is a family name and since there are so many people with his name in the family he just goes by his middle name.
