My main gripe, which I know wouldn't have done well anyway, is the fact that it's truly modern day. I like Goku being a clueless monkey boy or a country bumpkin and having to adjust to the rules of society. I like the fact that only Goku can ride on Kintoun...oh, and Chichi (but with her movie portrayal, I doubt it) oh and Lunch. It's just htat everything that I love about actual Dragon Ball (not Z or GT), I just don't see happening for this particular movie.

BTW....kudos to them for turning Goku from Japanese to German
There was never any true indication that Goku was supposed to have been Japanese. He's an alien first and foremost, which most tend to overlook or just downright forget. All of the Saiya-jin characters seem to be named after foods or something related to it. Besides, Goku isn't even his real name...it's Kakarot, which I'm sure you recall. He was given the name "Goku" by Gohan.
