Bored with his life, a dog named Ruff Ruffman decides to create his own TV show where he places real kids into amazing challenges. The show runs in a reality game show format but with different educational concepts in each episode. At the start of the show Ruff creates a challenge with a series of tasks for a random group of the kids, as picked by his computer the Fetch 3000. The kids out on a challenge have the ability to earn up to 100 points. The kids who remain in the studio known as "Studio G" can earn 50 points during the "Halftime Quiz Show" where they answer questions about the tasks being performed by the other kids. These points add up across every episode of the season until a winner is picked out from a series of challenges for all the kids in the final episode of each season. Some of the prizes on the show, all offered by Ruff through a mailbox, were sometimes undesirable by the contestants and they could choose to trade them to another winner in the first season.
