Gaming Classics #1: Marvel Super Heroes

A review of the classic arcade game from 1995

April 09, 2013
I've played a lot of fighting games in my time. But none compared to the amazing game called "Marvel Super Heroes". This game was released in arcades in 1995 following that were ports for both the Sega Saturn and PlayStation in 1997.

The Story: The general story of this game is that Thanos is planning to use the Infinity Gems to take over the universe. But the heroes and even some of the villains from the Marvel comics universe unite to foil his evil plan.

Game Play: If you played a game in the Street Fighter series then the controls should be no stranger to you.

Game Modes:The only mode in this game is arcade mode where you basically fight opponents to the death until you reach Thanos. But the catch is the Infinity Gems which can be obtain by striking an opponent during a fight. Although be warned, Thanos is very hard to beat with using the Infinity Gems which provide different abilities like power.

The Flaws: In all honesty, nothing is really wrong with this game if anything they made Thanos way too hard to beat.

The Verdict: At the end of the day, "Marvel Super Heroes" is an outstanding fighting game for its time. Even if Thanos is nearly impossible to beat. So my score for this game is..........
7.5/10

Other games I plan on reviewing:
X-Men VS Street Fighter
Marvel VS Capcom: Clash Of Super Heroes
Marvel VS Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes
Super Smash Bros.
Mario Kart 64
and so much more
