Best Toys from the 1930s

1980s? 1990s? That's about as retro as a moon pie on a camel's back. Now the 1930s, that's true retro. I was born in 1925, and grew up during what you called now a days, the Great Depression. Let me tell you, it wasn't that great. However, our toys were much better than the crap from the eighties. He-Dudes, Ninja Turds, and Mighty Moron Pow Pow Rangers, got nothing on these true classics.

STICK

It was Christmas, 1931, under our tree was a long slender package, my one and only gift for that year, I was so excited. I tore open the paper, and inside was one of the greatest toys I have ever received. A three foot long wooden stick. My father had gotten it off the tree in the backyard. I was so proud. I used to play stick ball for hours with my friends, sometimes we would poke things with it. O Sticky, how I miss you.

TIN CAN

Every now and then, my Mother would serve us supper. The best thing about eating, besides the break from being constantly hungry, was the left over tin cans. Hallo, Super Italian Brothers, those stupid Video Games aren't as fun, as a good old fashion game of kick the can. You think you're so fancy, with your Cellular Telephones and their EmPeeThree Players. Well, I ask you, what's wrong with a couple of tin cans and a string?

FUTURE SCIFI ACTION MEN

Growing up on H.G.Wells and Jules Verne (Much better than that Devil Worshipping Hairy Potter) I loved science fiction. My friend Tommy had a Dad with a job, so I used to go to his house and play with his "Future SciFi Action Men". Little green plastic army men with future weapons and clothes.

FDR INACTION FIGURE

Franky Dee, the best President of all time. He didn't even need legs to end the Depression and Win Double U Double U 2. Take that Obama, you Communist.

IBM POWERPLUS HOME COMPUTER

I got this in 1936, my very first home computer. It ran on Microsoft Windows Version 0.000000000000000011
I spent countless hours playing computer games, like move the red thing over and it's sequel, move two red things over.

We may not have had food, clothing and housing, but we sure had some great toys. Hopefully, the American Economy will continue to go downhill, and we can all go back to the living like we did in the 30s.
