Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

Down but not out,of my memory

This is my first article so please be gentle.

I was 3 years old when I had my first glimpse at a gorgeous red 'cadwac'. This show had it all for little boy, a cool guy who drove an even cooler car, had a garage full of cars and to top that had his own pet dinosaur. I had all the toys, and my mom even bought Barbie cars and other old toy cars that were about the same size to fill my shoebox garage and a desert made from taking my mattress off of the frame. Now that is how I thought of it when I was younger, just an awesome hero beating bad guys, but now being an adult at 18, and living my life for the most part on my own, I can trace how I have lived my life back to Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.

When I came to the age of 6 and could comprehend the show's plot, I started emulating Jack Tenrec, he was the ultimate good guy doing right in a world full of wrong, and I wanted to do the same things he did. Most kids at the time were into Power Rangers or VR Troopers bouncing around with swords and megazords, but I was playing with nature and exploring, I became a little tyke for the wild and read many books on wild animals and insects and each one fascinated me and I learned that all creatures have a role on this earth.

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs taught me values that everyone should have. The values taught to me were respecting the environment, respecting all living creatures, always wanting to learn more, and treasuring the values of human life. The lessons learned have come in handy for me in my somewhat short life. I am compassionate for everything and have a true concern for anyone in pain or anything hurting.

Out of my love for C&D came some funny moments that even I look back on and wonder what I was thinking, I will never forget the day when I went into my 1st grade class and I cut the sleeves off my denim button up shirt and scribbled the mechanic tattoo on my shoulder with a black magic marker. Apparently that merits a call home, And a good talking to. All in all, this show has played a major part in ‘the balance' of my life. And though I cannot claim to have gotten my sense of doing right solely from this show, I can say it gave me one heck of a jumpstart.

Now in my senior year of High School, I still find myself daydreaming of cruising the wild in an old car with nothing to do but look at the skies and feel the wind in my hair. I drive a red 1996 Monte Carlo Z34 now and have given it a little touch of C&D, two intake pipes protruding from the bottom and they are chrome and really catch your attention. I also have my 1983 s10, which is one of a kind and has just as many mods as the Cadillac in the show. Thanks for taking the time to read my first article and any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is a short article but I cannot put my thoughts into words to show how much of an impact this show has made on my character (no pun intended)I look forward to learning from my first article venture and making more enjoyable ones down the road.
