Hello! For my 10th article I will be talking about all of the Sonic games that I currently own. Most of the Sonic games that I have were bought brand new but I only have two Sonic games that were bought used but I will get to that later. I only have a Sega Genesis so my whole collection of Sonic games are on the Sega Genesis. I used to have a Sega Saturn but unfortunately it stopped working for us one day and so we had to get rid of it. The only Sonic games I used to have for the Sega Saturn would be Sonic Jam and Sonic R.

Anyways, I'm going to start talking about my Sonic game collection and I will start off with one of my Sonic games that were bought used and that would be...

Sonic The Hedgehog

Year released: 1991

Sonic The Hedgehog would be the first game to ever have Sonic in it. The only weird thing about my Sonic The Hedgehog game is that it says "Not for resale" on the cartridge and I'm not sure why it says that considering it is the only game in my Sonic collection that says it. Anyways, the purpose of Sonic The Hedgehog is to free all of the animals that are trapped in the robots that Dr. Robotnik (now known as Dr. Eggman) has made and he also must defeat Dr. Robotnik from his evil plans. Sonic must also try to complete the level before the time runs out. When the timer hits 9:59, you will lose a life. You will also lose a life if you did not collect any rings. If you have one ring or more Sonic will survive until he gets hit by an enemy and he will lose all of his rings and he will have to recollect them in order to survive. There are also bonus rounds where you will have to complete in order to get a Chaos Emerald. In Sonic The Hedgehog, there are a total of six Chaos Emeralds.

Sonic The Hedgehog is one of the Sonic games in my collection that were bought used. I first got Sonic The Hedgehog when I was 10 years old and so I've had it for 9 years now. Overall, it is a really fun game.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3

Year released: 1994

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is the first game to ever have Knuckles in it. The purpose of this game is almost the same as Sonic The Hedgehog, you free the animals that are trapped in the robots and complete the courses before the timer hits 9:59. One of the differences in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is that there are seven Chaos Emeralds instead of six Chaos Emeralds. The only way you can find the seven Chaos Emeralds is by going through some large golden rings, you will find these large golden rings scattered throughout the hidden areas of the game. You can earn extra lives, shields, and rings in bonus rounds. The only way you can get into a bonus round is by having at least 50 rings by the time you get to a star post. When you are in a single player mode, you can play as either Sonic or Tails or you can have both Sonic and Tails while playing the game. If you are playing with both Sonic and Tails, player one can control Sonic and player two can control Tails.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is actually my all time favorite Sonic game. My brothers and I first got Sonic The Hedgehog 3 back in Christmas of 1994 along with the Sega Genesis and a few other games. I even remember when my dad had a hard time trying to figure out how to hook up the Sega Genesis to the tv. LOL!

Sonic And Knuckles

Year released: 1994

Sonic and Knuckles would be the first game to ever have Knuckles as a playable character. On the top of the Sonic And Knuckles cartridge is another slot in which you can put in and play either Sonic The Hedgehog 2 or Sonic The Hedgehog 3, the Sonic And Knuckles cartridge will not work for any other game. If you end up putting in a game that is not playable for Sonic And Knuckles it will end up putting on a screen that has Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Robotnik on it and it will say "No Way? No Way!" to you. There is actually some use to it when the "No Way? No Way!" screen comes up. If you press the A, B, and C buttons together you will end up with the Blue Sphere game that was originally in Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

I remember when I was little that I used to put in the wrong game in the Sonic And Knuckles cartridge just so I can play the Blue Sphere game. Most of the time I played the Blue Sphere game but when I was actually playing Sonic And Knuckles, I usually played as Sonic and my older brother usually played as Knuckles.

Sonic 3D Blast

Year released: 1996

Sonic 3D Blast is the first Sonic game to ever be in 3D. The purpose of this game is to free all of the Flickies that were turned into robots and who could do that to such beautiful birds...none other than Dr. Robotnik of course, who else? Dr. Robotnik decided to turn the Flickies into robots because he wanted them to find the Chaos Emeralds. Of course, Sonic later finds this out when he came to visit the Flickies that they were all turned into robots and he decides to free all of the Flickies to ruin Dr. Robotnik's evil plan. There are four different colored Flickies and their colors are green, pink, red, and blue. The green Flickies are a bit retarded, most of the time they try to avoid Sonic as if he was the enemy and we all know that Sonic is no enemy. The pink Flickies tend to fly around in big circles. The red Flickies are very good at jumping and so Sonic will have a hard time trying to catch them. Last but not least, the blue Flickies seem to really like Sonic and so they will make it very easy for Sonic to catch them.

In my opinion, I like the game but I think that the controls could have been a little better. I remember that I used to have a hard time trying to control Sonic mainly because of the D-pad. Other than that, I had a really fun time collecting Flickies and going through bonus rounds.

Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball

Year released: 1993

Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball is basically a pinball game only you are using Sonic as the ball. There are only four levels in Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball and they are the Toxic Caves, the Lava Powerhouse, the Machine, and the Showdown. There are many Chaos Emeralds that you need to find in Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball. There are three Chaos Emeralds in the Toxic Caves, three Chaos Emeralds in the Lava Powerhouse, five Chaos Emeralds in the Machine, and five Chaos Emeralds in the Showdown. There are three special stages and they are known as Trapped Alive, Robo Smile, and The March. The purpose of Trapped Alive is to free Tails, Bunnie Rabbot, Sally Acorn, Rotor Walrus, and the other animals from the robots that they are trapped in. In Robo Smile, you must knock out all of Dr. Robotnik's teeth (as funny as it sounds, it's true). The March is very similar to Trapped Alive, you save Tails, Bunnie Rabbot, Sally Acorn, Rotor Walrus, and the other animals from some kind of capsule.

Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball is another game that was bought used and I've had it for about two years now. I think that Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball is a great game but for some reason I used to have a lot of trouble with that game. I remember when I was little I used to rent the game all the time and I could never get past the first level mainly because I either fell in the water or I got eaten by that monster that is showing in the image above. As of today, I can make it to the Lava Powerhouse but now I'm having trouble with that level.

Well, that wraps up this article about my not so big collection of Sonic games. We used to have Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis but unfortunately we lost it when my dad moved into another house, we left that and a few other games behind.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my 10th article and I'll be sure to come up with another article some time soon. Bye!
