Two players a celebrity and civilian compete in a word association game for a chance to go to the winners circle for $10,000 on the 1st try $25,000 on the 2nd attempt. The $25,000 Pyramid is one of many versions of the Pyramid series which started in 1973 on CBS as The $10,000 Pyramid. It moved to ABC in 1974, was rebranded The $20,000 Pyramid in 1976, was syndicated in 1981 as The $50,000 Pyramid, and the 1982 edition launched a nighttime edition in 1985, The $100,000 Pyramid (which also saw a 1991-92 run). In 2002, Donny Osmond hosted a new version simply called Pyramid.
