PBS Newshour Weekend debut on September 7, 2013, with Hari Sreenivasan as anchor, and the program was originated from the Tisch/WNET Studios at Lincoln Center in New York City under the final edition on March 27, 2022. On April 2, 2022, the program moved to WETA's Washington facility, and the program was renamed: "PBS News Weekend", with Geoff Bennett as the new anchor. On December 31, 2022, John Yang began anchored the program.
