Known in Japanese as Uchuu Ace (宇宙エース), Tatsunoko's very first anime production was adapted from Tatsuo Yoshida's shounen manga serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Book magazine. Although considered to be an Astro Boy clone due to similar elements, it gained some anime milestones, including the directorial debut of prominent Tatsunoko staff member Hiroshi Sasagawa. After straying from his family, Ace, the prince of the Parlem Star falls to Earth where he can perform amazing feats with his incredible energy.
