This American Sunday morning television program premiered on January 18, 2009 on CNN, John King as its original anchor. On 2010, Candy Crowley replaced King as anchor of the program. In December 2014, after Crowley left the program and CNN, the program had a series of fill-ins before Jake Tapper was named permanent anchor of the program in April 2015. Two months later, in June 2015, Tapper began hosting the program. On January 24, 2021, Dana Bash joined Tapper as co-host of the program, with the two alternating Sunday hosts.
