The Mane 6 get invited to Hope Hollow for the Rainbow Festival. Once they arrived, they find the town lacking the color after Mayor Sunny Daze admitted they disappeared when the rainbow generator malfunctioned. Now they must figure out how to bring the colors back. This is the only television special based on the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic not to be animated by Studio B Productions in Vancouver, Canada. Instead, Irish studio Bolder Media (which is owned by Hasbro) took up the slack.
