Thomas Popper Jr, a divorced real estate agent and father of two has just learned his father was killed on an expedition in Antarctica. He soon takes in a penguin his father befriended, and despite his efforts to get rid of it, his children encourage him to take in five more. He soon finds the penguins an annoyance and tries to send them to the zoo, but his children may force him to change his mind.
