Dead Poets Society
Release: June 02, 1989

Painfully shy Todd Anderson has been sent to the school where his popular older brother was valedictorian. His room-mate, Neil, although exceedingly bright and popular, is very much under the thumb of his overbearing father. The two, along with their other friends, meet Professor Keating, their new English teacher, who tells them of the Dead Poets Society, and encourages them to go against the status quo. Each, in their own way, does this, and are changed for life.

Mr. Keating: "Huh? A phone call from God. Had it been a collect call, that would've been something."
Knox: "Dead Poets Honor."
Keaton's class: "O Captain my Captain! -Keaton's class"
Richard Cameron: "Hey. In case you haven't heard, Dalton… There's something called an honor code in this school, all right? If a teacher ask you a question, you tell the truth, or you're expelled."
John Keating: "No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world. -John Keating"
John Keating: "We're not laughing at you - we're laughing near you. -John Keating"
John Keating: "Sucking all the marrow out of life doesn't mean choking on the bone. -John Keating"
