Loretta Castorini (Cher) is a young widow who is ready to enter the dating scene again. A rivalry for her affections develops between two men: Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello) and his brother, a baker named Ronny (Nicolas Cage). In the meantime, Loretta's parents Cosmo (Vincent Gardenia) and Rose (Olympia Dukakis) are having their own issues as well.
