To me, they seemed the same; beat em' up use special abillities and have about three or four playable characters. But all in all, I thought that Streets of Rage was much better.
It's my goal to sparta kick all hipsters in the throat....

They're both about even in my book, I almost like Rage a little better cause it had a little more depth but I really have fond memories of playing FF at a local pizza parlor and on an SNES kiosk when the system first came out. I was so mad that it didn't have "Guy" in it for SNES in the beginning but I got over it real quick after I played it a few times. I still rock FF on GBA, and SOR on my consoleCADE.
"YEAH YEAH!!!! THIS WAS THE HOLE THAT WAS FILLED WITH WATER WHERE WE HAD TO SAVE THE VIRGIN THAT WAS GETTING EATEN BY THE GIANT SNAKE!!!!" -"Dragnet" (1987)

Final Fight is a classic to me, but my vote goes for Streets of Rage. It was just always more fun and even it's lackluster third installment was better than Final Fight's entry. Just wish they would've made Adam playable again

Damn, its been so long since I played either of those games that I don't remember which one I liked better. My friend who had both the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo (lucky rich bastard) had both of those games and we spent hours playing them both.

Streets of rage is my favorite of these 2. What also comes to mind is Dynamite Deka, also an explosive beat 'em up game! I totally love this game, the only thing missing is steven seagal :D

final fight was my choice. and yes it was cheap. the rolento board was the cheapest board of any game. the fire shooting out of the ground was impossible to avoid. and your life was cut short with a knife, or some major attack. but it was still fun. and i didnt like seeing the dynamite go off either.
(also, if i was really far into the game and died, i would run down the timer so no one else could jump into the later stages of the game.)
