It was just after the release of Tomb Raider II, I bought the first one from the 19.99 bin at Wal Mart. I fell in love with the game almost imediatly. It was the mix between the chanting music and the asthetic worlds that hooked me.

The first game was the best with errie music and the first time that you could look around the level.

Tomb raider III and IV were my favourite
III - because of the adition of a mansion with secret rooms and butler o yes and the quad bike track who could for get that .
IV - Because you got more of an in depth look at her past ie ;teenage years - first mission

the butler scared the creeps out of me , I got it when I was like 7 or posible 8 and used to not be able to go down the stairs , the noise he made made it all the more errie
The butler annoyed me so I would always lock him in the freezer. That took care of him.

My roommate in College bought the PS1 right when it came out (I couldn't believe anyone would spend 300 bucks on a videogame system at the time).
Anyway, we used to stay up for nights in a row playing tomb Raider when it came out, doing levels over and over again until we beat them. We played it so much I actually had dreams about it for a few nights, me running around, jumping up and pulling myself up on those large stone blocks, shooting my pistols.
It was one of the first great PS1 titles that really put the PS1 on the map.

I AGREE ^^ . Oh and locking the butler in the freezer is the only way to get into the basement sucsesfully
I had a great experience with Tomb Raider myself. I played the game for PC I think. I think the best memory I had with that game was when you are in that snow level in the very beginning and there are those wolfs' that attack you. Stellar. 8)

The butler annoyed me so I would always lock him in the freezer. That took care of him.
He gets out eventually if you leave him there long enough. That happened to me once. I locked him in there, so I could explore without having him follow me everywhere. I was running around in the upstairs rooms, and when I turned around one time, he was standing right behind me.
I also heard if you open the freezer door at a certain time when he's in it, he'll fall over.

yea i loved how they animated the water in Tomb raider or just swimming around in the first game was awesome, used to jump off really high cliffs and fall in the water
