remember when you go to a rental store, rent your favorite game, and go home with the excitement of playing the game.

Good Times!

People don't rent games anymore? Gosh, I'm behind the times...

Granted, I haven't rented a game in a long time, but what i used to do as a kid was rent the game first then if i liked it, bought the game.

Yes I remember going to the video shop and hiring a heap of videos and one game for my sega master system and then in later years my NES and SNES.

It costs seven freaking dollars to rent a game these days. It's hardly worth it. You can buy a game, and if you don't like it, sell it back for credit. It's probably more economical.

I would deliberate for as long as I possibly could before my mom grabbed my arm and said "Pick one or you don't get anything." That's effective parenting.

I remember when Phar-Mor was still open. They had $1 rentals for movies and games. I think it was $1 for 5 days. Something like that. But it just rocked. I had rented the game Crystalis over and over. I was near the end of the game when I dropped the cartridge. The game was fine, but it had erased all of my data. I was so crushed! I just couldn't start over again after that.

I would have to say that the last game that I rented was 007:The World Is Not Enough for N64 at a local Video-King. I remember probibly the first game that I rented was either Aladian for Sega Genesis or Toy Story for Genesis. Good stuff.

I should start renting games again, but Mom just can't seem to find the time to go to the rental store and get the games I request (This is coming from soneone who's independent living skills are still in development) .

I haven't rented a game since the days of N64. I would go crazy renting games at blockbuster, but know I have yet to rent a game for my PS2 and I probably will never. Games on N64 were just so damn expensive back then (about $75-80 CDN for the really good games) and only being 11 or 12 I didn't have alot of my own money so renting was the way to get games for me besides the Xmas or bday gift.

                          I haven't rented a game since Super Nintendo. I would rent PS2 games but it's $7.00 now for a 7 day rental.

I used to rent games all the time, by the armload (Not literally, but I did rent alot at once) Now, I only rent games whenever I see a title that catches my eye (usually a Star Wars, Fighting, or WWII game)

Since it's rather expensive to rent ($7 for a week? I wish it would go back to $3 or $4 dollars) I buy most of my games, because in the long run, it's cheaper. Plus, if you don't like the game you could just return it or sell it.

I stayed renting games from BlockBuster during the SNES/N64 days. For SNES it was Tetris Attack, Donkey Kong Country and Mortal Kombat games. On N64 it was all the mario games and Diddy Kong Racing. I loved those games. Mace:The Dark Age on N64 was the shiznit! :)

back when A-Z/Mr Movie was around. It was a simple $2.00 for either a movie or a Nintendo game . then Blockbuster came along and it was a simple $4.35 S'ok

Nowadays It's like ten and It's more of a rarity to rent anything anymore.

I don't rent games anymore because the days of paying $1.99 for a one night rental are gone. I don't want to pay $8 or $9 to rent a game for 5 days, when I just want it for one or two nights. Unfortunately, that's all you can do at Blockbuster and Hollywood Video...and those are the only two rental stores around here anymore.

I remember I used to rent a game every weekend. Some places even had deals like 3 games, for 3 nights, for 3 dollars. Those days are long gone.

gee, I must be living in retro-land.... my video store charges 2.50$ for game rentals (new games + new movies) and old games & movies are 1$!!!!

all that a block away from a Blockbuster who charges more than double those prices :)
