My personal favourite NES game. Best selling NES game of all time too. The whole game is like a trip into a weird fantasy world. It reminds me of sonic 2. It's much like the original just done way better.
I also FINALLY got a video of the secret text you get when you beat a boss with the hammer bro suite. I could have just used an emulator and savestates to do it easily but I enjoy the challenge of doing it legitly.

I found it a few times as a kid and sorta was like :shock:
But then I forgot about it, and recently rediscovered it. Also you get different text for beating a boss with the tanuki suite and with the frog suite. I have a vid of the tanuki one on my youtube page as well and I'm working on getting a frog suite one. It takes a lot of playing to do these things legitly on an actual cart so it takes some time. I love how they actually reward you in this game for doing little bizarre things like that. I think the best games are the ones that actually reward you for doing every imaginable difficult thing.

Actually, the first Mario game was the best seller. It sold over 40 million copies. SMB3 sold like about 17 million copies to this day.
But yes, this game is so great and I am still addicted to it.

*edit* I never think I'm gonna have success with the frog suite. It's too annoying to play with that thing.

It even tells you about the unused level and sprite data which has been found in the rom. Including 2 new enemies (slightly modified versions of other enemies you encounter), as well as the debug mode and the unused bonus level
I love how this game rewards you for so many different little difficult things. I think what truly gives a game replay value is a game that rewards you in the most ways possible for doing stuff that's difficult

Indeed, SMB3 is one of the greatest Mario games of all time. I've played through and beaten it many, many times. It never gets old. I plan to eventually download it off the VC.

doing it was actually a royal pain in the @ss. Probably why not many people know about it. But it's sure rewarding just to say you did it. Doing it with the frog suite however is just too darn hard for me to care about.

It's more game-like than "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show", but it doesn't have Lou Albano or Danny Wells doing the voice of the Mario Bros.
