There were plenty systems within the 1990s that were hot, but lets discuss the best systems in this era.

Among the top were snes, sega genesis, psx, ps2, n64, dreamcast,

My personal favorite was the SNES as this was the system of the golden age. Super Mario world came with the snes set with 1 controller at 1 time. When I was young, me and my brother had the option of our parents getting us a Sega Genesis or the SNES system. We already had grew up with the NES, so the only right thing was to go with the SNES as an upgrade.

We got the SNES and rented the hell out of our local video store. We rented a game every other day as, the renting price / time was only $2 per day.

I have so much memories of the SNES times from Mario Kart to Chrono Trigger. Sega Genesis was pretty close to SNES in terms of speed and great arcade games but because of SNES features from the sound chip to mode 7, to the beautiful graphics and resolution it offered, the sega genesis came in 2nd place.

PSone and Genesis were damn close but I'd agree, SNES was the best system of the 1990s. And it's, in my opinion anyway, the best system of all time.

SNES killed Genesis, then came the 32bit system era with PSone followed by 64 bit N64.

Things havent been the same ever since. The SNES was the last system to ever dedicate video games to being Fun and entertaining . Now everything is about graphics and online playing. Don't get me wrong, I love the action and violent games now a days, but I truly miss the master and craft video games used to be in the 16-bit era.

SNES in my opinion was the best console ever especially since many games have blossomed from this system like Super Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, and many others.

          the what

There are still good games out there, granted most people care about graphics, but there are still fun games out there. Stop being biased.

Of the systems you listed, I only really care about the Genesis and the SNES.

For me, N64 hands down. It came out right around the time I actually started to get really good at video games (I was 8 or 9) and of course 3-D graphics were unheard of at that time so I was utterly blown away. Also, N64 was host to my two favorite video games of all time, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time and Majora's Mask. That system had so many amazing titles, Mario 64, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Starfox, etc. You couldn't go wrong with it! PSone was an amazing system as well, but just didn't touch me in the was N64 did. I still own one and play it to this day!

Genesis, Gameboy Color and the N64 are my favourites hands down.

Just finished the Kafei and Anju sidequest yesterday so that pic of them hugging is quite appropriate Mistress9. What a long-winded quest that was by the way. It is almost impossible without a FAQ or something. How did we finish those things in the 90's without internet?

                      Oh yeah, we didn't.

I remember that side-quest fondly (I actually borrowed my friend's strategy guide and that's how I got through it lol). The whole Anju and Kafei romance story really touched me when I played that game, it was always my favorite side-quest! I love games with sandbox gameplay that are packed to the brim with side-quests so Majora's Mask will always be near and dear to my heart!
