How can a current show be full of memories? You'd understand if you watched it.
If you have never watched CHUCK, let me suggest it as the next show you start renting (in order from Season 1). It is FULL of retro goodness, and not just tidbits here and there. They use some updated music for a soundtrack but there's a lot more 70s and 80s music used. The referenes to 70s and 80s TV shows and movies are all throughout the series. The creators are 70s and 80s kids into early 90s. It's a great show anyway, but if you love pop culture references from all the stuff we love start renting the show.
Here's one segment from the show. Pretty much every moment in the show gets this crazy:
"Why are you letting Sam Kineson and an Indian Lesbian ruin your wedding!?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fgmcqvwLH4The show uses some hot guys and gals in it, but they aren't annoying about it. It's hard for me to explain that. There are shows that are just blatent Magazine Model shows that show skin for no good reason other than just to flash skin.. and that's boring and tiresome.. sorry, just is shows no creativity. And then there's CHUCK. You aren't distracted by any "pretty" person in it because that's never the focus. And when they do have a hot model moment, for example with SARA, it's usually a short blip used in a humorous way to point out how non-hot the rest of the cast is.
Chevy Chase REALLY REALLY needs to start taking up more serious sinister rolls because he did an outstanding job. I think this is his first bad guy roll, and I can't say enough good things about his performance through te series. Scott Bakula is amazing as well each time he's in it.
This is a show that's made by retro geeks for retro geeks in a complimentary way.
It's 4 AM please forgive any typos similar to impropper uses of the word Your and You're :)
