But according to that site, the name changed in the 70's. I wasn't born until '85, and I clearly remember the cereal being called Sugar Crisp
Well back then in the 70s censoring was such a major thing. look at the saturday morning toons then, bit by the PC Bug. (cuz no violence)
(btw PC means Politically Correct)
Chris
...or something.....the cereal itself I wasn't too keen on, I remember about a day after you opened it it would get kinda sticky and gooey from humidity, and it got stale real quick because all it was is Puffed Rice sprayed with sugar :)
Yup. You are right. Heres a link:

Apparently the word 'sugar' was banned from cereal boxes sometime in the 70's and thats when the name change happened.
whenever i eat that cereal, my pee smells like it.
That link was quite informative about most of the cereals ever produced. I've tried Super/Sugar/Golden Crisp Cereal and it did get sticky after a while Bleecchhhh...
If you ask me, I'm a Frosted Flakes man myself. ...Too bad my mother has become too much of a "Nutritious-Crazy-Health-Nut" and thinks they're high in sugar and calls most Kellogg's cereals "Candy for Breakfast", so now it's Basic 4, Fiber One, Grape Nuts Flakes or some other cereal sans Promotional Mascot. :x >_<
