i remember these little furry things that looked like teddy bears, called ewoks maybe, but it wasn't star wars or star trek, it was made for kids...it had to be made in the 70s or 80s early 90s at the latest

The Ewok Adventure, even though you say that it wasn't Star Wars. There were 2 movies just about the Ewok's, fun for childhood memories, bu dull and boring if you see it now.
