Oh Yeah! It was another french cartoon (like cities of gold) that came on Nick in the early 80's. I did a page for it on 80scartoon.net:

Spartakus and the sun beneath the sea 85-87

"Ever since the time of the great cataclysm, the Arkadians have lived deep in the center of the Earth. They believed they were the only survivors of this great devastation. Thier civilization thrived under the power of thier sun, the Tehra...unitl it began to fail. In desperation, the children of Arkadia broke the law and entered the forbidden archives searching for a solution. What they discovered gave them hope. Anxiously, they used thier special powers and created a messenger to the people above, they named her Arkana..."

Arkana was joined by Spatakus- a rebel slave and wanderer that possesed a magical armband, Matt & Rebecca- two children from the surface world, and Bic & Bac- two anteaters and the oldest creatures from Arcadia. Together they journeyed through the Strata, a world that lies below the Earth's surface, aboard Tehrig thier living ship uncovering the long forgotten secrets of Arkadia's past.


Good Luck finding it if you want it, the dvd is available only in french and I can't find it anywhere!
