hmm, wow, I so agree on the pokemon thing. I have been saying that for about two years now, and all my friends claim I exaggerate and all. i don't know if tvshows have gotten worse, or that dubbing and editing just screw them up. I just know I used to be a tvholic, and in less than 2 years, I've gone back to watching 2 hours a week at the most! There's just nothing left anymore that interests me. Mind you, I did enjoy season 1 and 2 of pokemon. Allthough they contained a few episodes that attacked pokemon's very own essence, they also had some episodes that really made me feel there was a immense world filled with pokemon and mystery (like ho-oh appearance in episode 1, before it became an official pokemon). Too bad the show started to be too long, too hero-focused, too obvious etc.
Educational value destroyed good tv. I remember when I was young, everytime my parents caught me watching tv, they told me to go read a book. Why? Becoz books are good for you. They never could find arguments, or even tried. Books were educational and good for me, tvshows weren't. All it led to was that I hate reading now, which is a shame. Entertainment doesn't have to be educational (all though I indeed learned a lot from old tv, like English for example), it just has to be fun.
