here is how to disable those annoying pesky things in QuickTime that can hog your computers resources!

    Hrm, strange. I could have sworn I replied to this already. Anyway, you could also just go into 'msconfig' and uncheck the quicktime box in the system startup, and that'll prevent quicktime from starting automatically.

    Ah, I did. Why'd you post this in memory lane, too? :?

      I remember Quicktime in the 80's. Oh sorry, that was PLAYtime in the 80's, hehe sorry.

        So that more people will find it, and I already told you in the other one that it only works with the system tray icon. The Content Guide cannot be disabled in that way.

          Well, if you're really concerned about the system resources being hogged by quicktime, disabling quicktime startup takes care of that. You don't need to worry about the content guide, as that only starts up when quicktime does. AND, disabling the quicktime startup doesn't just take care of the systray icon. It prevents quicktime from starting up.

              Yes, but I thought I'd mention an alternate method that was quicker. :D

              One thing that *is* better about your method though, it doesn't require a restart.

                    I have Windows 10 installed. The system tray icon is currently incompatible with the upgrade which I had previously done.
