The first one was pretty good but I did not really like the second one... except the spanish cat.

I can't stand Michael Meyers, so these movies had very few funny parts for me. The supporting cast was funny at times, but anything that actually had to do with the character Shrek annoyed me. And if I had to go to the grocery store and see one more item that was promoting those movies (especially Shrek 2), I was ready to put a gun to my head.

The only good thing to come outta The Shrek movies were those kick-ass
twinkies with the green "ogre" filling.

        Thanks X-Entertainment!

Both were good, but for me the first was a little funnier than the second, and the second had a little more action than the first.

I like Shrek, but the fact that Cameron Diaz got about 18 million dollars for simply recording her voice...something that probably took 2 days of work makes me sick

What made me and my friend (and everyone else in the cinema) scream our heads off in the second film was the bit where Pinocchio tried to tell a lie and we found out that he was wearing women's underwear.

I love both of them too.

I love them both...My favourite part during the 2nd movie hasto be with that mermaid that looks like a certain other Disney mermaid which kisses Shrek and Fiona throws her to the sharks, The "Holding out for a Hero" scene sends chills down my spine whenever I see it too, Harry Gregson-Williams did a fantastic job with rearranging that song for the movie.

They were both descent movies to say the least. I loved them and still love to watch Shrek as much now as when it came out.

My brothers and I were also laughing our heads off.

Some people criticize Shrek (and even Aladdin) for making too many cultural references. Supposedly that doesn't make them "classic". I suppose that's true. I've watched old movies and I know I didn't get all the jokes and references for that time. But so what, all movies are unique to their times.
