Earl Kress has posted in his blog a list of H-B DVD sets tentatively scheduled for release next year. And here they are:

  1. Birdman and the Galaxy Trio
  2. Space Ghost and Dino Boy
  3. Wait Till Your Father Gets Home (Season 1)
  4. Wally Gator/Touche Turtle/Lippy the Lion (Complete)
  5. Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (Season 3)
  6. The Banana Splits Adventure Hour
  7. Quick Draw McGraw (Complete Series)

And 3 more titles are tentatively primed for DVD release. They are busy piecing together the interstitials and all the other fun stuff, but, judging how us diehard fans have been continuously burned by the slipshod fashion Warner Home Video have handled the H-B DVD releases of late—especially how they shortshrifted Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt, which I found the least forgivable of all!—I wouldn't hold my breath. :?: :?: :?: :?:

Still, let's hope (and pray!) WHV does better this time out.

I wonder when they're going to do their 80's stuff like Pac-Man, GoBots, and others?

If "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" really is officially coming to DVD by sometime next year, that really makes my day. It is one of my favorite HB shows.

I'm currently recording it late nights on Boomerang. I have missed a few episodes though.

Is there any old-time classic Hanna Barbera stuff, like Huckleberry Hound and those characters, on DVD? The original shorts, I mean.

Yes, they've been releasing nice deluxe DVD sets of them for a couple of years now. Fintstones (the original series) is almost finished, I know there was one set of Jetsons, not sure if there's been more, there's also a Huckleberry Hound set out.

Wow, I better save up some money! I'm a big fan of HB cartoons and I hope they would release Pac-Man, Smurfs, Snorks and Challenge of the GOBOTS on DVD too.

They're pretty much ignored by the company but I'm sure they'll release them someday.

I think I read earlier this week that the guy who created the Flintstons died, or some creator who did some old toons died. I was ment to make a post about it but never got around to it.

William Hanna died in 2001, if that's what you're talking about. Joseph Barbera has since been an executive producer for Warner Bros. (according to Wikipedia.org)

Yeah, they are known more for their 60s/70s cartoons. Don't get me wrong, I love their 60s/70s shows but I'm a huge fan of their 80s shows. I never cared for any of HB's 90s shows though.
