is there anyone who remembers roosevelt franklin's elementary school? a segment on sesame street in the early years, where hey had 4 or 5 characters from the inner city who sang the school's theme song. i think they discontinued them because maybe someone felt it was offensive to african americans. i am black wasn't offended,actually felt included and i remember looking forward to that part of the show.

      dont mean to sound racist or nothin, but my recollection of sesame street was there were alot of black and asian people aswell as just a few white people.
      hell it was sesame street, there were freakin purple and green people.

        I think they stopped because the teacher had trouble controlling the classroom.

          They stopped it because he appeared, to some, to perpetuate the negative stereotype of urban black males who are disruptive in school.
