Does anyone remember these toys that came out in the early-90s? Basically kids' versions of spy equipment, they had stuff like a fingerprint kit, long-range microphone, and a little camera you could hide in a Mike & Ike's box. Out of these, my favorite item was a pair of sunglasses that let you see what was behind you.

I still remember the end of the commercial. It went like this:

Mom: They have Spy Tech!
Dad: Are they on to us?!
Announcer: Spy Tech, high-tech equipment that works. Each sold separately.

I'd be interested to see if anyone had, or at least remembers, Spy Tech.

I remember the ads, definitely. At school, whenever the intercom made funny clicking noises, we used to say, "They have Spy Tech!"
"Preserving the old ways from being abused,
Protecting the new ways for me and for you.
        What more can we do?"

[Guy with glasses]: They Have Spy Tech!
              [Vendor]: THEY KNOWES!

Now I'd Rofl to that. However I didn't get that back then. Yes I'm talking about a commercial for ST. I allways wanted that watch with the Cryptic messages. so I could do my encryptions.

I was about 8 years old when I started to get into Spy-Tech. In fact, I had quite an interest that I had probably collected almost every toy available. I remember using the camera with a mirror that could be used to take pictures around comers and also a fingerprint dusting kit. I was also learning how to decode messages and learning Morse Code.

My third-grade elementary teacher knew about my spy-tech hobby and my interest in becoming a spy and as part of a science project, I had the chance to demonstrate one of the activities in the spy-tech kit with the class. Five students were selected to help me demonstrate. I rolled each of the students' fingers on the ink pad and then onto one of the index cards. Each student had one of several fingerprint patterns. Different patterns were used to match the print. After a while, the print began to appear, and I took it off the object using the tape and placed the tape onto the black card. The white powder on the tape and the black card gave me a clear image of the print.

It was defiantly quite an experience and one that I appreciated.
