Alright my memory is really really sketchy on this one so forgive me:
as a child I had a number of toys, a book, and some shoes involving this particular show but I can never remember the name. Here's what I do remember:
It had to do with a relatively strong guy getting sucked to either a new planet or future time but it was really futuristic and there were laser guns. I don't think it was Lazer Tag academy but it was something similar. Any thoughts? Did I just make up the whole thing?

I would have said Captain N, that nintendo cartoon, but it wasn't really futuristic, well not often
Was it the New Adventures of He-Man? He-Man is a strong guy and was transported to the future world of Primus where there were lasers and other weapons. Of course He-Man was always around lasers on his homeworld of Eternia in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Not sure if it's Photon it looks similar to my memory but different, because I remember the main hero being blonde. Was there any other type of show like Photon based around laser tag that was animated?

No it wasn't the new adventures of He-Man because whatever it was it was on before then.
