What are some of the snacks you remember eating the most around Christmas? I always got the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes, but what are some things you guys remember eating a lot?

Fruit mince pies and candy canes. (I believe they're just called 'mince pies' in the States.)

Don't forget sugar cookies cut in your favorite shapes. It was always fun to ice them too.

Does anyone regularly make gingerbread houses? I think I have once, but I'm thinking about trying it this year again.

I like the cookies that you make into a little wreath out of cornflakes and marshmallows....kinda like rice crispy treats, but not. Anyways, during the holiday season I often find myself raiding the freezer at midnight. They're best when they're in that inbetween state of cold and room temperature

Yeah me too. If you have twinkies or something similar around, do you ever put them in the freezer for a while?

This 1985 Christmas issue of Woman's Day that I found has some insane gingerbread house plans in it. With a train and everything.

A train? That's pretty ambitious. I'd be happy with a door, and maybe a chimney. Although, a garage with a little edible car would be cool too.

Great, now I'm thinking about it.

How strange is it that I actually think I went through that exact issue a while ago? I have a strong love for 80s advertising.... My grandma had a huge collection of Christmas magazines from over the years, so naturally I took the opporunity to scavenge through them for ads 8)

Candy Canes in Hot Chocolate, Gingerbread cookies, some leftover Halloween candies (if I had any good ones left), and "Seasonal" snack cakes (Like Little Debbie, Hostess, ect.)

I ate one of those yesterday. My mom always makes oatmeal cookies around Christmas time, and they are one reason I like Christmas so much.

My mom always makes cookies around Christmas. The school my brother and sister go to always sells tubs of cookie dough and that's what we use. They're small now, but they used to be HUGE. When me and my mom baked an entire tub's worth when the tubs were bigger, we had like ten batches of cookies with a hell of a lot of cookies in them lol.
I made a gingerbread house once...that thing was the shiz man...it totally rocked^^When the holidays were over and we had to get rid of it I wanted to eat it...but my mom said I couldn't. It was a bummer. The thing looked delicious. :(

I loved Scotch-A-Roos (peanut butter rice krispie treats with melted chocolate and butter scotch chips mixed and slathered on the top and then semi hardened) and Mini mince meat pies. My mom is from England so she loves to make those around Christmas.. Oh and Christmas Crunch Berries!!

See's candy, other candy floating around.

My mom bakes fresh homemade cookies she makes rolled cookies, spritz (the kind from a cookie press), and thumbprint jam cookies.

She also makes cakes, rice crispy treats and pies.

Shortbread cookies with cherry centers and nanaimo bars that my mom makes, they're both excellent. I also like Jack Daniels filled chocolates. It's like Rolos that pack a buzz.
