I would love to see this movie made,I really liked the first two and the cartoon. Now on Countingdown.com they have a page for Ghostbusters 3 and the plot goes-The Ghostbusters are able to be transported into hell via a portal in a New York warehouse.
Now this plot reminded me of an episode from the cartoon it was called KNOCK KNOCK. From what I remember the episode was awesome and one of the best ones they did the plot went-
The New York subway workers open a door to a world full of evil spirits. They start invading NY starting with the subway system. The Ghostbusters gang needs to find a way to close the door and restore NY's subways back to the way they were.
There were rumours of a another one happening but Bill Murray passed but if they do another they need the whole gang to make this work atoll.

I remember reading about this several years ago. I believe part of the plot was that they have franchised the company, just like in the role playing game. Also, they had new rookie team members. Chris Farley was supposed to be one of them. I forget who the others were. I think Chris Rock was in there too. I honestly would've loved to have seen this movie made.
On a side note, here's a bit of trivia from the IMDB entry of the film: "The original premise of "Ghostbusters" had three main characters: John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy. They fought ghosts in SWAT like suits using wands instead of guns. The ghost named Slimer was known as "Onionhead", and at the end of the movie the Ghostbusters franchise was all over the United States. John Candy also was slated to play Louis. However, with Belushi's death and characters backing out, the script was rewritten and new actors casted."

Well the way the trivia info with them actors being the in the movie in my opinion would not had worked as good as how it turned out. I like the idea of the new recruit but if any one's gonna join them its got to be Louis because he was always wanting to be a Ghostbuster and in the second one he only got a little action. For me when they enter the portal it could be they need a little help and that person could be Louis.
The plot sounds awsome and exciting like the previous films so if they all got back together I'm sure it would be a hit movie.

Well, thats what rewrites and new drafts are for. I'm going to try and find the link for the full synopsis that Aykroyd gave in an interview. It's a very cool read. The full title of the 3rd movie was Ghostbuster Go To Hell.

Yeah I no it was on IMDB but they took it off now,I dont know why that was. On countingdown.com it was called Goastbusters Hellbent.

Something I would look forward to also. Lots of movies that would be cool to see a sequal because of today's modern computer effects.
I think that this would be a good movie if it was done right. I have heard rumors about this possibly being made, and if they were going to do it, Bill Murray wouldn't be in it. I mean they made ANOTHER Rocky, making ANOTHER Die Hard, Jurrasic Park, Indiana Jones, TMNT, Transformers. So you know why not? I <3 Ghostbusters :)

they're making another Jurasic Park? And that TMNT movie i dunno about my feelings on that, I mean its in CGI. So in all basic forms its a cartoon. It better be on the level of the first two.

I dunno, I think it would be nice for the originals to be in the film. However, the torch must be passed at some point to a new team. But I do agree that the original Ghostbusters would have to be there. Even as mentors.
If they were going to re-unite the original cast, they'd have to do it in that really realistic looking CGI they used in Final Fantasy the spirit within. 'Cause they're all old now. Like I said before. Have them become mentors. They just need to be there to act as bosses and train the new guys. Not main roles, but supporting would work.

Hey didn't Econ die? Harold Ramis that is I know at one time I saw him on tv a few years ago and he had put some major pounds on. at first I didn't realize that it was him because of the weight. I don't know if it would be good or not some things just need to be left alone.

They might be able to pull it off NOW, but if they were gonna do it back then, it would've followed the kiddification trend, just like the ninja turtles movies. 1= adult-level entertainment. 2 = some damn soccer moms complained and it shows. 3 = only an 8-year old can get any enjoyment from this crap.
